Andrew has worked professionally as a machinist, designer, craftsman, animator, photographer, videographer and teacher.
As an outdoor enthusiast and knife collector, he started The Edge Observer in April 2011 to investigate the design and manufacture of modern cutlery. The site focuses primarily on high quality video overviews and critical written reviews, attempting to bring well executed and informed articles on the topic.

When JP isn’t holding a pen or pencil he is flicking open his Combative Edge M1. He works full time as a book seller and part time as an illustrator in Montréal, QC Canada. He has illustrated for various organizations and publications across the province and now contributes to The Edge Observer’s opinion pages.
David Lew

David Lew is a 1st Sergeant (OR6) in the Swedish Army having had a career spanning from full-time mechanized infantry via battalion staff to his current position as a section leader in light infantry (motorized). Before he joined the forces he was an avid scout in his native Stockholm, ending up as the leader of a section at age 17. Currently he is dividing his time with reserve and instructional duties while also pursuing a bachelor of science. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, hiking, micro brewing, bushcraft and reading too many blogs about gear and adding to his growing knife collection.
